Samoa Independence Day is celebrated every year on 1 January to commemorate its independence from New Zealand, granted on 1 January 1962. In 2025, Samoa will celebrate its 63rd birthday.

The Climate and Ocean Support Program (COSPPac) - Implementing Partners Management meeting will be held in Fiji. The partners include Bureau of Meteorology, Australia, SPREP, Geoscience Australia, NIWA, DFAT, MFAT.
