Tonga Tide Gauge

With support from the Australian Government, the Tongan Government, and the Pacific Community (SPC), a tide gauge has been recording sea level and climate information in Tonga since January 1993.

In 2018, 25 years later in its busy port location, the tide gauge was in dire need of repairs and replacement.

Thanks to the Climate and Oceans Support Program in the Pacific (COSPPac), funding was identified to relocate and install a new state-of-the-art station on Vuna, Cruise Ship wharf.
